Chapter 146 Winged Serpents

The Winged Serpents dived down to the ground with terrific speed.

Their speed closed in to 300 kilometers per hour and Zayn felt like they had yet to reach their full speed. His eyes widened and the corners of his lips curled upward.

\'So cool!\' He shouted in his mind while watching grayish-scaled, ten-meter-long serpents with gray feathered wings shooting down at their prey.

If not for his high senses and vigilance of the surrounding area, Zayn would have been killed.

However, expecting that the Winged Serpents would attack him when all factors had been aligned properly, he was ready to retrieve a bunch of Artifacts and Armaments while simultaneously allowing his Spirits to emerge around him.

Herculean was the first to emerge. The Shrilariat Heavy Armor mantled his body tightly, while the Aegis Shield Artifact and the Mace Artifact were grasped in the same motion.

Herculean was fully armed in an instant, and it was not too early as the Winged Serpents impacted.

The Herculean Human Spirit rose the Aegis Shield in the air, using more than half of its soul particles to activate the Astral Shield trait.

But even with the Astral Shield trait unleashed, Herculean\'s body was pushed into the ground the moment the first Winged Serpent impacted. The force was comparable to a cannonball at full speed.

Herculean\'s feet and thigh were pushed into the hard ground, just for the remaining Winged Serpents to impact as well. The second Winged Serpent broke the Astral Shield and pushed Herculean even deeper into the ground while the third Winged Serpent impacted just a moment later, smashing onto the head of the Human Spirit that dispersed into a wisp.

The wisp was pulled back into the Grimoire of the Ancient while Mocalw charged forward, blocking the fourth and fifth Winged Serpents\' attacks before it died as well.

The Artifacts and Heavy Armor sets of the two Spirits fell to the ground where they remained unmoving. Zayn didn\'t move either. He expected the Winged Serpents to stop their attack, or to change their trajectory, and not that they would continue the suicidal dive.

Herculean and Mocalw fell victim to this prediction.

However, in exchange, each of the five Winged Serpents was bleeding severely. The Shrilariat Heavy Armor and the Aegis Shield Artifact were not something one could charge into head-first just like that.

The Winged Serpents had probably been concussed. This was not what Zayn had planned to do, but it played into his cards as well.

Tera used the vast majority of its soul particles to cast a Spell using Gaja\'s Wand of Apprentice Artifact. Using the Artifact precisely, the Earthen Spell was completed just a moment later.

The earth in the surrounding tore open, revealing the muddy soil several meters under the ground. Tera controlled the wet soil precisely releasing tens of mud bullets to aim at the wings of the five Winged Serpents.

Concussed, the Winged Serpents required a second or two to regain their senses. In fact, even after a few seconds, it was not possible for them to think as clearly as they had been able to think prior to their injury.

Zayn and his Spirits made use of that. Saber pounced on Tank\'s back to using the Bull as a jumping pad to reach higher into the air. It tried to claw the closest Winged Serpent but it was a little too far off. Realizing this early enough, Saber opened its maw wide and released a searing hot flame that shrouded the Winged Serpent, burning its feathers into a cinder.

Glutton, on the other hand, released one Energy Ball after another. There was no need to spare any soul particles. It was either go all-out or go home!

Berserk didn\'t idle around either. The Human Spirit grasped Agile, twisted his own body to an uncomfortable degree to accumulate enough momentum, and threw Agile high into the air.

Berserk used a large amount of soul particles to use his weak wind elemental affinity to remove the air resistance Agile had to face and to push him even higher into the air.

Berserk\'s elemental affinity was not strong, but it was enough to push Agile high enough into the air to reach one of the Winged Serpents. The Dagger Artifacts in Agile\'s hands gleamed dangerously as penetrated the Winged Serpent\'s scales, piercing deep into the monster\'s flesh.

Agile was fully focused on the [Sharpness Enhancement] and [Bleeding] traits. It used 90% of its soul particles to trigger both traits and cause as much lethal damage as possible.

The Winged Serpent hissed out in pain and it was about to twist its body to dig its fangs into Agile when three mud bullets shot straight into the monster\'s wide-open mouth.

Agile twisted the daggers\' blades in the body of the Winged Serpent before it pulled them downward, creating a deep gash. Gravitation pulled Agile down, but the Human Spirit didn\'t leave the air without adding another twist in the blade, further worsening the Winged Serpent\'s condition.

Zayn didn\'t have too many means to attack monsters in the air. That was something he wanted to change in the future.

However, for now, against the Winged Serpents, the means at hand were more than enough!

Glutton pierced the right wing of one Winged Serpent, Saber burned the wings of another Winged Serpent, Agile severely injured a third Winged Serpent, whose mouth was filled with mud, and a fourth Winged Serpent had its wings fully covered with mud, restricting the movements of its wings and adding additional weight.

Only one Winged Serpent could move unhindered, or so it thought until an azure-colored crescent-shaped ice-blade shot upward, crossing ten meters in an instant, severing the Winged Serpent\'s left wing.

\'Looks like I will get them all!\' Zayn thought, taking a deep breath as cold sweat trickled down his temples.

His right hand felt a little cold, but it was not as unbearable as it had been in the past when he fought the Chimera.

The Dragontale Twin Saber\'s \'Glacier Slash\' was indeed as powerful and draining as it was!
